Due to the challenges of 2020, the foundation will not be having a formal event in Yankton for the BeKipp Foundation 5K and Fun Run/Walk this year. Instead, we hope that you will help us remember and honor Kipp with an online sharing of your own “event” on August 28th. You can walk, run, or bike your own 5k, or any other distance that you’d like for this event. Post your participation/photo on August 28th to this Facebook event page.

The BeKipp Foundation was set up in 2018 to remember Kipp and provide life saving Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) for athletics, youth organizations and other nonprofit organizations. For the past year, the foundation provided 7 AED’s to:
1. Boys and Girls Club of Yankton, SD
2. Missouri River Runners, Sioux City, IA
3. Yankton High School Athletics, Yankton, SD
4. Yankton Baseball Association, Yankton, SD
5. South O’Brien Consolidated High School, Paullina, IA **
6. Noah’s Ark Daycare, Sutherland, IA **
7. R.L. Johannsen Community Center, Sutherland, IA **
** Directed memorial gift from the family of Richard Hicks.

We do not plan on having a shirt fundraiser this year in 2020; however, we have a limited supply of shirts leftover from the 2019 event. First come, first serve on those shirts that are left. Message Anne Bartunek for more information if you are interested.

BeKipp Foundation is a 501c3 not for profit corporation. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution to the foundation this year, please reach out to BeKipp Foundation at jmkinsley9@gmail.com. We plan to donate at least 5 more AED’s this year.

We look forward to “seeing” you at the event this year through your online participation in the 5K event!
