Directions and some brief information about 4 popular trails
are listed below. These trails are easily accessed
from I-29.
Lewis & Clark Trail (Riverfront):
I-29 to Hamilton Blvd exit (#149) or Floyd Blvd exit (#147),
turn south to Larson Park Road. Length is approximately 5
miles one way. Flat terrain and markers every quarter mile.
Adams Homestead & Nature Preserve
Trail: I-29 north into South Dakota, take McCook Lake
exit (#3), turn west on North Shore Drive and follow signs
to Nature Preserve (just pass Dakota Valley High School).
Lake loop 4.6 miles and River loop 6.0 miles. Map is available at trail
head. Terrain is flat and trail is crushed rock.
Al Bengston/South Sioux City Trail:
I-29 to Wesley Way exit (#148). Turn south and cross bridge
into Nebraska, turn east on 6th street to Scenic Park.
Approximately 7 miles of marked paved trail with flat terrain.
Floyd River Trail: I-29 to Floyd
Blvd exit (#147), north on Floyd Blvd to 4th Street, east on
4th Street to Hoeven Drive, north on Hoeven Dr to 6th Street
(Four Seasons Health Club is to the west with parking).
Trail is paved and flat.
Perry Creek Trail: I-29 to
Downtown exit, west on Gordon Dr, north on Nebraska Street
to Auditorium/Tyson Event Center. Paved trail heads
north along Hamilton Blvd. Terrain is flat.
