Please join us as MRR’s guest at a free club run to be held on February 24, 2008 in Sioux City.  This is an informal run/walk which allows you to choose your own pace and distance.  Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to attend.  Since the run/walk will be held during the "dead" of winter, we felt that it would be somewhat appropriate to run/walk at the Graceland Cemetery on Lakeport Road.  No disrespect intended.

Once again, Christine Poeckes has graciously offered to host the run/walk from her home at 4921 Evergreen Lane (near the cemetery).  We will gather there at approximately 11:45 am with the run/walk to begin there at 12:00 Noon.  Restrooms will be available at the start.  You may want to bring dry clothes for activities after the race.

In conjunction with the fun run/walk, we will have a poker competition for all participants.  The first card of your poker hand will be handed out at the start, and three additional cards will be given to runners/walkers at points along a 5K route.  The last card will be handed out at the completion of your run/walk which should also be at the Poeckes abode.   Prizes will be awarded for the best poker hand and for the worst poker hand.   Also following the run, members of the MRR board of directors invite you to join us for a free soup and sandwich luncheon with special treats courtesy of our host, Christine.   

There is no pre-entry required, but if you plan to attend, please call Randy at 943-5878 or Chris at 8994617 to allow us to prepare for the luncheon. There is absolutely no fee for running.  Feel free to join us for fellowship and fun at our February "'FREE"zer.
